Please note: The Intake Office and InnerVisions staff are not responsible for facilitating interaction between clients in treatment and their families and/or friends. The first 35 days of our program are specifically designed for clients to be properly and totally immersed in their recovery efforts. During this time, writing is encouraged as a form of communication as it has proven to be effective in therapy. After 35 days, clients are permitted to make and receive phone calls and to interact with family and friends during designated times; these calls are solely the responsibility of the client. There is a zero tolerance policy for the use of the Intake Office or InnerVisions staff as message delivery agents.
Due to COVID-19, we are asking that all incoming clients wear face masks, wherever appropriate, for the first 14 days of their treatment stay. This is an effort to keep all of our clients and facilities safe. We understand this policy may be a roadblock for some, and we encourage you to discuss with our intake team if you have any concerns.
Private beds are available at a rate of $250.00CDN per day.
Payment plans are available – Only Certified Cheques or VISA are accepted.
Fraser Health and government funded beds may be available for those who qualify.
In the event a client chooses to, or is required to leave the program prior to completion, there will be a two-week fee penalty imposed. It is important to consider the consequence of not complying with our program before admittance. We are highly motivated to help those who want our help. All refund discussions will be kept strictly confidential between the client and the Centre. Although we understand that family members may provide funding for a relative in treatment, when a client attends our Centre the contract is between him or her and InnerVisions Recovery Society.
The program is operated by a committed group of individuals who themselves have had similar experiences on their path to recovery and share their experiences and training to help others suffering from the disease of addiction. All staff have gone on to realize academic achievements in the fields of substance abuse, counseling, and social services.

The InnerVisions program is based on total abstinence from all mood-altering substances. Our program encompasses a 12 Step Model, along with
the bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach. We also emphasize environmental structure (employment/education, family re-connection, community
involvement, etc.)
InnerVisions is a safe, structured, organized environment created and operated by people who have conquered their own demons of addiction
to alcohol and drugs; all staff members are in recovery themselves. We openly admit our program is highly structured and when a person is
coming into InnerVisions, he or she needs to know we are rigorous to the application of our program standards.

While our facilities are basic in nature, we maintain a high level of hygiene, warmth, and safety. This is not only our opinion, but has been
acknowledged by our accrediting and licensing bodies. What makes us complete standouts in Canada is our phenomenal tapestry of talented
staff who are equipped with exceptional skill sets; staff speak from their own experience about the despair of addiction as well as the miracle
of recovery.
Clients will be on telephone, internet and property restrictions until they have completed 35 days of treatment. This means you are not allowed to make or receive personal calls, access the internet or leave the Treatment Centre alone; you must be accompanied by two other clients or senior staff.  This policy is strictly enforced.
Following the restriction period, clients will be allowed to present a plan for social visits and arrange to see their families. Visiting is encouraged
off the treatment site but, upon request, visitors are permitted on the main floor common areas of the facility.
We will assist with any specific dietary needs, allergy, cultural, or religious accommodations that can be made to the menu for clients who need it (vegetarian, halal, etc) Although our centres provide set menus, we have tofu and soy products available for meat replacement. Furthermore, fruit, toast, baked goods and other snacks are readily available.  Protein, salad and vegetables are served with all meals.
Yes. Part of living in a residential treatment environment is the regular assignment of duties/chores. These provide skill development to clients
and create a sense of responsibility and belonging to a group. Everyday living routines and schedules are an essential part of the recovery journey.
Wait times can vary from zero to a couple of weeks depending on bed space availability and the severity of your circumstance. Our wait times
vary based on individual client needs and barriers. Once a client is eligible for treatment we do our best to make intake happen as quickly as possible.
Intake with InnerVisions is a self-referral process. Medical practitioners, Employee Assistance Workers, community services agencies, family,
friends, probation officers, social workers, etc., can make referrals to the facility, but ultimately we need to speak to the prospective clients
themselves. InnerVisions requires a total personal commitment from its clients.
The men’s and women’s facilities have access to our Addiction Specialist Physicians. They are available on site for appointments and medication
advice once per week. All clients see the doctor within 7 days of intake.
All prescription and non-prescription medications are cleared through our Addictions Physician and are distributed by staff.
Any medications brought in by clients must be given to staff immediately upon arrival at the centre. Clients are responsible for covering
the cost of any medications they may require while in treatment.
No client vehicles are permitted at InnerVisions.
The ability to read and write English is helpful but not required. We can make accommodations for clients who are unable to read/write English, and we have had clients in the past who could not read or write but were able to fully participate in the program through the use of audio recordings and additional help from staff and fellow clients.

InnerVisions will attempt to meet any specialized ethnic and cultural needs that may arise. Program literature is available in many different
languages. Our service is delivered at a primary level and program specific dictionaries are available.
Every effort will be made to facilitate the needs of individuals with physical disabilities. Individuals with physical disabilities will be informed of any possible accessibility limitations at our facilities prior to intake. If our facilities are not appropriate,  a referral to a more suitable facility can be made.
Minimal spending money is necessary for personal expenses. We strongly encourage having a nominal amount on hand and/or a debit
card for doing laundry, accessing local recreation facilities and purchasing such items as toiletries, snacks/coffee drinks, or cigarettes. Leisure
Centre Passes are available at certain facilities – $2.00 CDN each.
All residents participate in a daily morning walk. We have weights and exercise equipment at each site and local leisure centres provide us
with discount passes. Certified yoga instructors conduct classes at some facilities.

Recreation is important to a healthy lifestyle. The program includes periods of afternoon and weekend free time. During these times you may
work out on our exercise equipment, visit a local leisure centre, or engage in a hobby or craft.
Personal phone calls and email are not permitted until a client has completed Step 5 and reached the 35 day point in the program. We encourage
clients to write letters as they are a very therapeutic means of communicating.

Problematic substance use happens when someone uses drugs or alcohol in a harmful way that has negative effects on their health and life. Drugs and alcohol have the potential for problematic use because they produce feelings that may feel good to someone, such as a feeling of calm or increased energy or euphoria, or a “high”. These feelings can lead to a person to continue to seeking out the drugs or alcohol. At InnerVisions, the litmus test for addiction is whether a person drinks or uses more than he or she intends to at any given time. We believe the loss of control over using substances is a clear sign of addiction and/or alcoholism.
Alcohol abuse, or alcoholism, is the continued consumption of alcohol in uncontrollable amounts. At InnerVisions, the litmus test for
alcoholism is whether a person drinks or uses more than he or she intends to at any given time. We believe the loss of control over
using substances is a clear sign of addiction and/or alcoholism.
Drug or alcohol rehabilitation (often drug/alcohol rehab or just rehab) is a term for the processes of treatment, for dependency on
psychoactive substances such as alcohol, prescription drugs, and street drugs such as cocaine, heroin, methadone, or methamphetamine.
The intent is to enable the client to cease substance abuse, in order to avoid the psychological, legal, financial, social, and physical
consequences that can be caused, especially by extreme abuse.
Detoxification or detox is the removal of toxic substances from the body. Additionally it can refer to the period of withdrawal when a
person’s body works to reacclimatize to normal after sustained long-term use of an addictive substance.

Alcohol detox is not a treatment for alcoholism. After detoxification, other treatments must be undergone to deal with the underlying
addiction that caused the alcohol use.

Drug or medicated detoxification protocols are used to reduce or relieve withdrawal symptoms while helping the addicted individual adjust to
living without drug use; drug detoxification is not meant to treat addiction but rather and early step in long-term treatment. Detoxification
may be achieved drug free or may use medications as an aspect of treatment.

Many factors impact the detoxification process.  Depending on the individual circumstances of each potential client InnerVisions may
require a client to enter a detox facility prior to admission.
InnerVisions requires its clients to participate in Twelve Steps meetings such as Alcohol Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) in the local communities.

Other Twelve Step recovery groups include Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Heroin Anonymous (HA), Crystal Meth Anonymous (CMA), Marijuana Anonymous (MA), Nicotine Anonymous (NicA), Opiate Addicts Anonymous (OAA), Pills Anonymous (PA), Codependence Anonymous (CODA), Over Eaters Anonymous (OA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
Generally, we do not accept individuals with pending court appearances into our program. Depending on the situation, our intake team can try to accommodate arranging an intake date for after a client’s court appearances are dealt with. For more guidance on this matter, please contact the intake office.
All payments should be arranged with the intake office prior to admission. We accept e-transfer, certified cheque / bank draft, and credit card payments. Our Intake Coordinators will confirm with you which method you will be using.

If you’ve been instructed to make an e-transfer payment, you can send it to finance@myinnervisions.ca
